Samsung will unveil at FPD International 2007, in Yokohama, Japan a 40-inch (101.6cm) diagonal Full HD LCD TV panel only 10 millimeters thick. This new display, expected to usher in the next wave of large-screen TVs, has the same profile as 10-20 inch LCDs designed for desktop monitors. Its bezel has been reduced from a conventional 30mm to 14.6mm. The panel, using an LED backlight, reproduces 92 percent of the NTSC standard for color saturation and features low power consumption of 90 watts or less 
Samsung will also spotlight a 46-inch model with a brightness level of 1,500nits, triple that delivered by LCD panels designed for TV viewing. The higher brightness level makes Samsung DIDs easier to see in public places, where sunlight and fog interfere with visibility. The featured 46-inch model has a bezel no more than 10 millimeters thick, to facilitate the formation of video walls comprised of multiple panels side by side. At FPD International, Samsung also will exhibit its new 22-inch desktop monitor LCD with a next-generation DisplayPort interface approved by the Video Electronics Standards Association that enhances the use of high-quality graphics (8 bits or higher). Samsung will unveil a diverse array of leading-edge LCD panels for monitors, TVs and digital information displays at FPD International 2007, in Yokohama, Japan, October 24-26. The Samsung SCH-i760 Windows Mobile 6 Pocket PC will be available with Verizon Wireless. The device will be available Verizon's own web store from October 19th onwards, but the retail stores will carry this handset on November 2nd onwards. The Samsung SCH-i760 features a stylus for easy navigation, touchscreen display, a full QWERTY horizontal slider keyboard for speedy texting and convenient email composing. The Samsung SCH-i760 Windows Mobile 6 Pocket PC phone will be available on Verizon for $349.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new 2-year contract.
