A multi touch based Mac might be on the cards but till then Savant Systems' touchpanel coffee table is the best thing. The unique device is the first Apple-based coffee table surface product in the world. The ROSIE Coffee Table Touchpanel Controller provides a one-stop-shop interface to all your home entertainment needs. Like its Microsoft counterpart it has a huge 40 inch touch sensitive screen embedded at the top of the coffee table. It provides a customizable interface for media playback functions as well as home automation controls. Savant's applications include the ability to control a variety of devices ranging from multimedia streamers to networked security cameras. The ROSIE Table Touchpanel Controller can easily download photos from digital cameras, play music, tv, while maintaining complete control over the home via a slick interface. Source via

lego_relativity.jpg Andrew Lipson, a LEGO building genius, has recreated M.C. Escher's "Relativity" with LEGOs. It looks damn good, and I think it is safe to say that he should win some kind of award for doing such a bang up job. Just don't look at it for too long though, because I think I did, and now my head is spinning and I just threw up Fruity Pebbles on my sleeping girlfriend. A few more of the construction after the jump, along with the original for comparison.

Hello Kitty has found her way onto a-many of gizmos, but the irony of Queen Cuteness showing up on her favorite prey is striking, indeed. Nevertheless, this adorable critter plays nice with Macs and PCs, reportedly boasts a 1,200dpi sensor, includes a scroll wheel and right / left click buttons, and touts one of the most un-ergonomic designs we've ever witnessed. Notably, we've no idea whether or not this piece is actually authentic, but hey, it sure looks the part and costs just $10.08.

Every time we think we've had our fill of these, somebody goes and one-ups the competition with a Dell-fueled inferno of doom. Apparently this one is coming at us from Shanghai, and while we're not sure what anyone is saying on the forum to which these pictures are posted, we're guessing a chorus of "sucks to be you!" and "recalled for a reason" is a solid guess. Check after the break for a couple more pictures, including the stark beauty of the aftermath.

[Thanks, Steve Du]

[Xumedo via Uberphones]
